As an international executive officer, Jean-Luc Butel has an impeccable track record working in Asia, North and South America, and Europe. In his current role as Corporate Vice-President and President of Baxter International, Jean-Luc manages all of Baxter’s commercial operations outside of the United States. Previous to this role, Jean-Luc worked at Medtronic, where he was initially the President of Medtronic Asia Pacific and a Corporate Officer and then later Group President of International. In addition, Jean-Luc has held notable leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson and at Becton-Dickinson, where he also served as Corporate Officer.

Jean-Luc’s unique international experience has led him to his involvement with various boards and institutions. Currently Jean-Luc serves as a board member and member of the finance committee of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and in February 2014 received the Public Service Medal Award from the Singaporean government. He is also a member of the International Partnership for Innovative Healthcare Delivery’s board of overseers. Jean-Luc previously sat on the board of directors of The Shandong Weigao Group Medical Polymer Company and also served as the chairman of the US Japan Business Council for three years. While in Japan, Jean-Luc also served as the chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Medical Device and Diagnostic Committee.

Jean-Luc’s experience has been characterized by his ability to work with governments around the world to improve awareness, access, and affordability of healthcare. To this point, he has successfully negotiated numerous Public Private Partnership agreements around the globe. Throughout his career Jean-Luc has always sought to bring innovation to the center of his business activities. Jean-Luc constantly seeks leading edge technological advances and revolutionary business model innovation to improve healthcare.
